We proudly present the Colnago Master “COBALTO” – this is what we called this model for two reasons, one because of the beautiful blue color of the frame, and two for the brakes installed on it. The first generation of the Colnago Master was launched in 1984, the same year that Giuseppe Saronni won the Giro d’Italia – racing, of course, on the Colnago Master. Back then, every cyclist dreamed of having a Master, just as avid collectors now want it in their collection. The frame is truly amazing – the “Columbus Gilco Design – Profilo S4″ tubes – have profiled sections and were specially designed by Gilberto Colombo to improve stiffness and better withstand mechanical stress. The Master model made a huge impact on the cycling scene and became the most successful bicycle model in the following years. Such a high-end frame deserves only high-end parts. The C-Record groupset is often cited as possibly the most beautiful Campagnolo has ever created. The group mounted on our Master includes a set of the iconic Cobalto brakes. Campagnolo Cobalto brakes replaced the new Delta brakes at the time, which were popular with many cyclists but were notorious for their poor braking performance.
