Stunning Cervelo R3 SL! Size 54cm, medium, Im 5 10. Very rare SL Super Light, CSC edition, this is the legend that won Paris Roubaix Twice & Carlos Sastre rode to victory in the Tour De France! I think this is a 2009 but Im not exactly sure when I bought it. Weighs just 13.97 pounds!!! I bought brand new, No expense spared, best of everything, full Carbon Campagnolo Record 10 spd, Carbon Record Cranks, Carbon 3T fork, Syntace Carbon Post, Carbon flat top FSA handlebars, fresh Lizard Skin bar tape, Superlight Zipp Carbon 303 tubulars, fresh tire on front. No accidents, no drops. I take excellent care of my bikes. Overall this bike looks incredible, does show some very minor scratches, minor chips on handlebar because I used clip on aero bars once. This bike climbs & accelerates like no other bike! Easy to drop your friends when youre on this rocket! Well cared for, I loved this bike so much when I was racing I bought a second one. Probably rode this one two seasons, then rarely after that. Cleaning out my garage, time to let one go. Here is a sample. First of all, acceleration from a standing start or out of a tight bend is nothing short of stunning, partly due to the R3 SLs extremely light weight. Without pedals our 56cm model hit the scales at 6.5kg (14.3lb), and with pedals its still a sliver under the UCIs minimum limit of 6.8kg, so if youre hoping to win the Tour de France on one next year youll have to add weight somewhere. Maybe fit a bell or some spokey dokeys. Hit the hills and the R3 SL is up em like a rat up a drainpipe. Its where this bike is at its best. You find yourself further up your regular climbs than usual before your legs start shouting, and you can see your ride-mates getting more and more cheesed off at your extra speed. Its very, very quick to the point that you occasionally feel more like a passenger than the engine. Down the other side and the Cervélo is perfectly well mannered with accurate steering through the 3T forks giving you the confidence to take sweeping bends full on, and to chuck it into tighter corners without the need to scrub off speed just in case. Jam the brakes on in a bend that turns out to be sharper than expected and its not a problem no readjustments necessary. The R3 is comfortable enough too. Not plush, not harsh, just comfortable. You can perch there on long rides without feeling that youve been battered and can no longer perform at your best, you dont get excessive road vibration and, to be honest, thats all we care about on a speed machine. You want more comfort than that, stay on the sofa or take the car. The Cervélo R3 SL is one of the best road bikes on the planet; some people would argue that it is the best.
