Campagnolo introduced 10-speed Record and Chorus in 2000, and with them a completely new Record rear derailleur. Light weight was a clear goal, and this was the first Record rear derailleur with a carbon fiber outer parallelogram plate, plus titanium pivot bolts and a titanium cable fixing bolt. It also moved the body angle (B-tension) adjustment from the hanger to the pivot at the pulley cage, a layout Campagnolo kept for years afterward. The range began with short and medium cage versions; for model year 2002 Campagnolo added this long cage version, RD02-RE210LL, so that Record 10-speed could be run with triple cranksets. Its long pulley cage is specific to this model and is not interchangeable with the short and medium cage Record derailleurs of the period. In 2004 this generation was replaced by the Record derailleur with a carbon outer cage plate and “Record Titanium” lettering, whose long cage version was RD4-REXL. Model history per Disraeli Gears and the Campagnolo 2002 Spare Parts & Tools Catalogue. This derailleur is designed for Campagnolo 10-speed Ergopower shifters (2000 and later), Campagnolo 10-speed cassettes including wide-range cassettes up to a 29 tooth cog, and a triple crankset. It uses Campagnolo’s own cable pull, which is the same as 2001 and later Campagnolo 9-speed, so it is widely reported to work with 2001 and later 9-speed Ergopower. It does not index correctly with 8-speed or pre-2001 9-speed Ergopower, which use the older pull, unless the lever is updated. It is not compatible with Shimano or SRAM shifters. It bolts directly to a standard derailleur hanger. Very Good Condition – Used. Light scuffs and fine scratches on the polished body and knuckles. Scrapes and scuffing along the outer cage plate, especially near the lower pulley. Light wear and residue on the pulley teeth. Small scuffs on the carbon outer plate. The mounting bolt and cable fixing bolt are present. This comes from a collection of very high end bicycles, frames and parts. The collector’s taste was impeccable.
