Especially considering the era, steel lugged frameset and having more of a robust race wheelset. Handmade in Stafa, Switzerland by Royal Cycles, purpose built for racing and not showy frills, unnecessary chrome, etc.. Excellent Columbus SL steel tubing, lugged with Cinelli bottom bracket. Campagnolo dropouts and fork ends. Columbus SL fork blades. Original paint but has been touched up – displays very well. Correct era Campagnolo (1982) Super Record with the rear derailleur having Campy titanium pivot bolts. Difficult to find today, has unique curved Campy wheel skewers with extra light titanium shafts. The original Campy titanium bottom bracket have a bit of bad rap, but this one has the original Super Record bearings and cups yet with period upgrade Teledyne solid titanium spindle. Silky smooth and light. Also has the rare Regina hollow pin chain plus a really neat freewheel setup by Regina called the Futura. Two boxes of cogs with various ratio included. Amazing cool, no tools are needed to swap cogs and done in seconds! Call it a cassette / freewheel I suppose. All in excellent condition. Pedals are the extra light Campagnolo but with Swiss made and most rare ICS (Ital Cicli Systems) solid titanium spindles, washer and nuts. These parts alone are absolute as fine jewelry but sadly are not appreciative to see as most of inside the pedals. You’re welcome to remove the pedal caps and take a peek. Plus ti is non magnetic. (Steel Campy spindles included). Cinelli aluminum toe clips and really nice set of leather straps marked Acacio da Silva Portugal natnl. Beautiful Campagnolo hubs with silk smooth bearings laced to Ambrosio Formula tubular rims, top tier FMB Competition 700c x 25 tubulars (very little usage and lots of life remain). Brakes are the rare and lightweight Weinmann type 531 Delta (made in Switzerland), original NOS pads, original cable sheathing. I was told these brakes are the first version, possible limited early team released or prototype. Aero levers first introduced and although very few pro’s had them. Interesting to see other first aero lever brakes in archival videos such as Hinault with Campy aero on his time trial stage bike back in’82. Dialed in and excellent working condition. In my opinion, this is a far superior mechanical design and that really work vs Campagnolo Delta, plus these are light in weight. Remarkably only weigh a few grams more than Campy Super Record side pull calipers! Includes original autograph with team photo, original jersey, Campagnolo water bottle. Razor sharp and nothing whippy. And it effortlessly rolls. The components function perfectly- nice smooth friction shifting Campy. The Swiss Weinmann brakes are absolutely perfect with little effort needed offering precise feel in modulation to confident dive bombing fast corner descents. Wrangler apparel sponsored in the European pro cycling team only in 1982. They dropped out and rather focused with NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt starting that same year.
