BIANCHI Proto MAX, Campagnolo C-Record, Delta , 57cm (1991). Another great find to be displayed in our showroom in Poznan – Poland Just 2,5 hour drive from Berlin – Germany. If you’re in the area you need to visit us, drink some coffee and try our bikes. Besides vintage collection, we stock many brand new (we are an official distributor of Bianchi, Colnago, Pinarello and Willier) or slightly used modern bikes of brands like Trek, Guerciotti, Specialized, Cinelli, Cannondale and many more. Some say the Bianchi Proto is the most perfect steel racing bike. For the dedicated Bianchi collector, the Bianchi Proto is high on the list of must have bikes. Bianchi produced the Proto in years between 1988 and 1992, as a development of the Bianchi Specialissima X4. The Proto was constructed from Columbus MAX tubing, known as the best choice for professional racing back then. Characteristic for this steel is the shape of the pipes, very thick sections and the “aero” fork which is in the shape of a flat-sloped crown. Of course, the most important feature in the construction of this steel frame is the fact that it was produced by the tig-welding method and it does not have any lugs except for the seat tube, and the joints and welds are very nicely and precisely polished. It is also worth paying attention to the Bianchi badge on the head of the frame, on most models it was either a decal or a metal stick-on badge, but in the Proto MAX model this logo on the front is engraved. Other engravings that can be seen on the frame are Bianchi on the rear brake bridge, and the classic frame size and serial number are engraved on the underside of the bottob bracket. Proudly presenting one of the most desirable Bianchis racing machine, the Proto MAX, made by Bianchis Reparto Corse department back in early 1990s. Extraordinary frameset is made of Columbus MAX tubing, built with superb Campagnolo C Record groupset, iconic Campagnolo Delta brakes (5 pivot), ITM Bianchi cockpit, San Marco Regal saddle, NiSi clincher wheels. Seat tube (c-t): 57 cm. Top tube (c-c): 56 cm. Headset tube: 14 cm. Standover: 80,5 cm. Bianchi Proto, Columbus MAX frame no. Rims FiR EA10, Campagnolo C-Record hubs. Campagnolo C-Record 170mm 52/39.
