1974 Raleigh Carlton International Road Bike 24.5 Campagnolo Record Vintage
A gorgeous time capsule from the golden era of cycling, this Raleigh/Carlton International was hand crafted in the Workshop factory in Nottingham and features some top tier specs of the day, including Nervex lugs and Reynolds 531 tubing. The serial number denotes it as being built on the 13th fortnight of 1974. Seat tube measures 24.5 center to top, and it is finished in a stunning copper and chrome colorway. The bike is in excellent shape overall for its age and appears to have fully original components sans Matrix rims and SunTour freewheel (see specs for full details). The frameset shows some cosmetic scratches and finish wear in quite a fe. W spots, as well as some surface oxidation on the chrome (see photos). The components are in good shape overall, but do show some wear and marks including wear marks on the crank arms and derailleurs. The brake housing also has partially torn near the seatpost, though this doesn’t seem to affect brake function (see photos). The wheels are in great shape overall, but do have some brake wear and rim decal damage, and the tires may need replaced before serious riding. All and all, a beautiful example of English craftsmanship that’s sure to be a great addition to your collection! Frame: Reynolds 531 Tubing, Campagnolo dropouts, Nervex Professional lugs.
