I have owned this 1975 Masi Gran Criterium for almost 20 year. I was told I was the third owner. It has been hanging on a wall in my den for almost 20 years – ridden only for Brian Baylis birthday rides or other San Diego vintage affairs. I just finished having Greg (formerly of CyclArt in Vista) clean and detail the original paint. It came out looking like it had just been professionally painted! The Masi America horizontal USA flag seat tube bands were introduced in 1976 to commemorate the USA bicentennial. The serial number is between #0230 to #0275 (I won’t disclose the exact # for privacy purposes until it sells). It is stamped MC 62 and y’all know a MC 62 is really a size 60 cm (c-c) size bike. I had new wheels built for the bike using Martano polished rims and polished low flange Campagnolo Super Record hubs. I upgraded the rear Campy Nuovo Record derailleur to a first gen Super Record. The front derailleur that shows in the photographs is temporarily installed until I get a super clean plain face one. The Campy bar end shifters have been polished to a nice shine. The Super Record brake levers are very clean and have new reproduction old globe logo rubber hoods. The rest of the Campy components will not disappoint the new owner!
