Battaglin C4 Compact Line – Campagnolo C-Record 2nd generation. Giovanni Battaglin is a legendary former cyclist born on July 22, 1951 in Marostica (Vicenza, north-east Italy). In 1981, in less than two months, he won Vuelta and Giro and was only the second player after Eddy Merckx to win the double victory of Vuelta-Giro. At the beginning of the 1980s, after cycling successes and a very serious accident, he decided to start building bicycles in a small workshop near his hometown. He released his first bike very quickly. Battaglin built only high quality racing bikes, creating frames, using its experience as an excellent professional. Early models such as “Giro” and “Vuelta” caught the attention of the bicycle industry and it wasn’t long before investor support increased Battaglin’s growth potential. This expansion opportunity brought sponsorship of professional teams such as Carrera, Amica Chips and Panaria, thanks to which Stephen Roche won the triple crown on a Battaglin bike; Tour de France + Giro d’Italia and World Championships. So the relationship between Battaglin bikes and success has been established in history. The advertisement that accompanied such prestigious victories made Battaglin bikes one of the most desirable in the world. Battaglin represented the perfect balance between innovation, craft skills and heritage. The presented model is a real gem – the Battaglin “Compact Line” 1988 – is one of the first mass-produced carbon bikes. There are only 20 such frames in the world. One bike is currently with us. An amazing delicacy that beautifully tells the stories of road cycling. A real treat for a real collector. Tt 55 cm st 55 cm c-t ht 10 cm. Campagnolo C-Record 2nd generation 53/39 170 mm.
