Campagnolo 50th Anniversary bicycle parts group from 1983. These were only made one year. New old stock in box (actually in 50th Anniversary suitcase). This is one of the first 5000 made, number 2331. Campy ended up making more than the originally planned 5000, but this one is from the initial run. English threading, 170mm crank arms, medium toeclips, band type front derailleur, 36 hole hubs, 27.2 seat post. The rubber on the brake hoods still in great shape and pliable. Pedal spindles are titanium. The bottom bracket and headset were the only parts not stamped with the “50th logo”. Has all of the matching documentation and the documentation matches the number on backside of crank arm as well. The following is what I see as “imperfections” but by all means should not be deal breakers for this 38 year old collectors item. There is a piece of the blue inner display casing that has cracked away (see picture) where the cables are housed. The header card has some discoloration (stain). One of the black plastic guides on the rear derailleur adjusting screw is cracked (pretty common for all these era Super Record level derailleurs). The thin plastic box that houses the bottom bracket is cracked. Grey foam divider is discolored on edges (I would assume many are like this because of age). The black suitcase is getting a little sticky around the edges from age and does show wear on the sides from age. The rubberized faces look good. Small mark at top of seatpost. I have not tried to remove. Crack starting at corner , in blue plastic, where front derailleur resides (very minor). On back of crank spider. A lot of the pictures show the faults but make no mistake , this is a really nice group.
