Includes: main frame, matching fork with chrome tips, threaded headset, bottom bracket, rear derailleur hanger, top tube brake cable guide, bottom bracket cable guide, and eyeletted front and rear dropouts. Dropouts: front and rear stamped BREV CAMPAGNOLO, rear with adjustment screws. Weight: 7 lb 1 oz. Ideal for a period-correct vintage road bike restoration or custom retro build. Truly they don’t make em like they used to. Check that last group of photos, all those components are part of this Bicycle. Add those up = about 8-9 hunny right there. Reynolds 531 steel tubing. Upgraded (at dealership) Suntour VGT rear derailleur, Suntour 14-24 tooth 5-speed freewheel, and 30-47-52 tooth chainrings, all to the original owner’s spec. Original Stronglight headset/bottom bracket/cranks, Miche pedals, Campagnolo Nuovo Record front derailleur and shifters. Original AVA (non-death) stem and Pivo bars. Original Normandy hubs and Weinmann rims. Original Stronglight-threaded center caps for both cranks are there. Pedal cages and leather straps are included, belonged to original owner but are MKS branded and slightly newer than the bike. Test-ride tires and saddle come with the bike. Hubs and headset cleaned and regreased, lower headset balls replaced with correct ones that the original owner bought as spares. New brake cables and brake pads, new KMC Z51 chain. Still working on the bottom bracket but it spins smooth (will update posting as progress is made). This bike has been well-loved and cared for, and ridden on tours around the world. I’ve put over 100 miles on it myself all over Pittsburgh and love the ride, but don’t have room to keep more bikes. It has always been stored well and does not have any rust to speak of. 24 lbs, 57 cm top tube, 61 cm seat tube. Fit for someone roughly 5’10”-6’2″. Test rides allowed if you are local. Excellent condition 1972 Motobecane Grand Record. This is a classic sports touring frame, comparable to the Peugeot PX10, Gitane Tour de France, Schwinn Paramount, and other top of the line bikes from this era. Honestly, I think the build quality and component choice on this bike is better than the Peugeot PX10 and Gitane models. A fantastic ride, and ready to go. These yellow and black 1972 models are rare and even rarer in this condition. Frame: Reynolds 531, 3 main tubes butted. Seat tube 60cm (just slightly less than 24 inches), measured center to top. Top tube a bit more than 58cm (almost 23 inches exactly). Derailleur: Campagnolo Nuovo Record, front & rear (original). Brakes: Universal 66 (original). Brake levers: Dia Campe aero (upgrade). Wheels: Araya 27in alloy rims, with Suntour Vx hubs (upgrade). Tires: Panaracer Pasela, 1 1/8in, folding bead (plenty of tread left). Crank: Stronglight 49D (original, in excellent condition). Pedals: Atom 700 (original). Seat post: Campagnolo Record (upgrade). He paint is very good throughout, with only very minor scratches (see pictures). The largest scratched areas are on the rear seat stays, where a previous owner attached a rack–this is visible in the 5th picture. Much of the paint on the bike has the “craquelure” pattern of tiny, block shaped cracks, that is typical of these bikes. Not a problem–the Mona Lisa has it too! This bike is ready to ride.
