First Generation Campagnolo Brake Lever Ergo Shifter Brifter. Part No EC-12RE CG. 8 Speed From the Record Corsa (C-Record) Groupset. Working perfectly and very little external wear–See photos. These have very few miles on them and work great. The show very little cosmetic wear. See photos to judge for yourself. First off, Campagnolo did not offer a groupset called C-Record: the Record Group was called Record Corsa from mid 1980s until the early 1990s. C-Record is a nickname created by consumers and the media. Shimano was first to introduce the Shifter/Brake lever combination control in the late 1980s. They have become the road bike standard ever since. The brake lever/shifter combo has come to be called a “shifter” though the same term had historically referred to shift levers that mounted to the frame and did not incorporate the brake lever. The term “brifter” was used by some, but never took hold as the final name. Campagnolo introduced their competing product in the early 1990s: an 8 speed shifter/brake lever as part of the Record groupset. Complete Somec ProMax road bike for sale, constructed with a full state-of-the-art Columbus Max. Tubeset in the late’80s / very early’90s. Carefully made in Somec’s north-Italian workshop. We’ve built it up with a complete 8 speed Campagnolo Record groupset from the turn of the’90s. Matched with a set of first-gen tubular Shamal wheels. Cinelli Top Ergo 66 handlebar, and silver. Vittoria Corsa Evo CX 21mm tyres. Everything shifts, brakes and rides very well, with no problems. There are no dents, cracks or bends. There is a small amount of surface rust on the headtube lugs and two spots on the fork blades, but. We’ve checked it out and it’s very minor.
