COLNAGO Carbon Volo 1988. 55,5cm (c-t) seat tube x 54cm top tube (c-c). The Colnago Carbon Volo was the first carbon framed produced by Colnago. The production only lasted for the year 1988, being later replaced by the famed C35 model which had Ferrari associated with it’s design and went into production in 1989 celebrating 35 years of Colnago cycling history. It is believed that only about 200 of these have ever been built. This renders the Volo to be one of the most elusive and rare Colnago bikes out here. From my research, only about a dozen are documented on the internet. Many consider this bike as the prototype for the C35. The “Carbon Volo” has some particularities in design such as fork shape and seat binder bolt that later changed on the C35. The forks on this bicycle are made by Profile Design and are not the original Colnago forks. The frame has the original paint with some patina to it. Few paint chips on the frame to be seen. The Campagnolo C Record group set is in very good condition and the Delta brakes are in excellent condition. Titanium C Record spindle with Aluminium C Record cups have been installed. Wheels have been build using new spokes and nipples, lacing C Record hubs to Mavic GP4 very good condition rims. The stem is 3T, Ernesto Colnago laser engraved, and the seatpost is Ernesto Colnago pantographed. Colnago Carbon Volo frame 54cm. Headset: Campagnolo C Record.
